Stu MacAskie

Stu MacAskie is a pianist/organist/keyboardist/singer based in Denver, Colorado. He is proud to serve as Music Director for Celebrate the Beat. Stu’s life is spent bringing quality music to people, and finds a synergy with CTB’s mission of using dance and music to teach children the value of excellence and hard work. CTB provides an opportunity beyond his own performing to use art to impact his community.
Playing jazz and pop music with equal authority, he has graced the finest stages in the region, including featured performances at Popejoy Hall, The Lensic, The Outpost, The Macey Center, The Western New Mexico Fine Arts Center, The National Hispanic Cultural Center, the Tabor Opera House, the Dillon Amphitheater, the Dairy Center and many more performance venues large and small. He has performed in Europe and Southeast Asia and toured the United States from coast to coast. His eight years as a part of the music scene in New York City sharpened his skills, preparing him for work in jazz, pop, and classical circles. Jazz artists that he has performed with include Frank Morgan, Bill Watrous, the New York Voices, Antonio Hart, Bobby Shew, and Greg Gisbert. Many pop artists have sought out Stu’s skills including Sparx, Patti Page, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Susan Lucci, Khadijah Ibrahim and Stepfanie Kramer. Here in Colorado he has performed at the Estes Park Jazz Festival, the Five Points Jazz Festival, Dazzle, Nocturne, The Crimson Room, and many more venues. Stu performs regularly with Hazel Miller and The Collective. Stu loves living in Colorado and taking advantage of the wonderful hiking, flyfishing, and camping found here.
