After-school Programming

DREAM Team:

For our participating schools, CTB offers after-school instruction as an opportunity for students who want to dance more. These dancers attend DREAM Team (Dancers Reaching Excellence, Artistry, and Mastery) rehearsals after school where they dive deeper into the curriculum, learn additional choreography, and experience being a part of a team connected by a shared passion. This team performs additional choreography during their school’s culminating performance and represents their school and CTB at community events.

Celebration Team/All-stars:

It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of these teams. CTB students who are invited to participate have shown growth through CTB by demonstrating the ability to learn choreography, work collaboratively, express themselves artistically, and perform in a variety of settings. In addition, they have exhibited perseverance, a positive attitude, commitment, teamwork, energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for dance. This is a motivated and dedicated group of students from a variety of schools ready to challenge themselves.

This program meets after school once a week throughout the year with opportunities for summer programming. We offer these dancers a variety of classes and give them the opportunity to learn many different styles in addition to fitness, yoga, and CTB themed curriculum. Students enhance their dance experience by creating, improvising, and collaborating with their peers. Past teams have performed at the Denver Botanic Gardens, Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver Art Museum, The Broadmoor, Colorado State University, The Vail Dance Festival, and more.

These teams serve as an opportunity for continued growth for CTB students who love dance and being a part of CTB.

CTB teaching artists form deep and durable bonds with our students and connect on an emotional level, not just an instructional one. For example, some high school students have become so much a part of the CTB community that they return as volunteers, mentoring younger dancers.
