In-school Programming

Celebrate the Beat (CTB) brings schools and communities together through the arts. Using the transformative power of dance our students develop a personal sense of confidence and belonging. By meeting students where they are we cultivate a safe space for them to experience the freedom and power that comes from dance.

Every child should have access to arts education. To make this program inclusive and accessible to all children classes are taught during school to every student in the chosen grade level(s). All classes culminate with an exciting live performance to bring the community together while students joyfully share what they have learned.

Customizable Programming

We work with schools to customize how the program works within the school parameters, teacher and administration goals, student needs, and CTB availability.  Participating grades and the length of the program are decided from these needs-based conversations.

Examples of Program Duration Options:

3-weeks with classes every day

7-weeks with classes two days a week

15-weeks with classes one day a week

Grade Options:

K-8th

Feel the Beat

Weekly classes taught to the entire K - 8th grade during the school day, offered as either 15 or 30-week programs.

Feel the Beat Intensive

A robust program where children take class every day for three weeks, allowing for more in-depth learning in a shorter time.

Train the Trainer

Teaching artist training combines teaching workshops with real-time shadowing and hands-on experience in  CTB classes. This program expands the CTB teaching team and strengthens the field of arts education.

Staff

All CTB classes are taught by two professional teaching artists and are accompanied by a live musician. Live music in every single class is one of the many aspects that separate CTB from other in-school dance programs.

Classroom teachers are an integral part of the CTB program. Through their participation in CTB classes, classroom teachers get the opportunity to see students thrive in a different environment, build stronger relationships with their class, and learn how to incorporate mindfulness and movement into their classroom culture.

Performance

Every program culminates in a final performance for students to share what they’ve created with the entire community. These highly inclusive performances are a joyful artistic expression of the year’s theme performed with a live band.
